This section covers all live blackjack tables available in Las Vegas Valley casinos. We found the following minimums during weekday casino visits in September and October 2022. 

There were 72 casinos in the Las Vegas market that dealt live blackjack when we compiled this data. Club Fortune removed its pit in November, dropping the number to 71. Bally’s rebranded to Horseshoe in December.

Limits may be higher during peak hours and weekends. If a game is $5 in this survey, it could be $10 or $15 during peak hours. A $10 game may be $15 or $25. A game with a $15 minimum bet may go up to $25. Some $25 games may double to $50, though the $25 minimum tends to be a stable limit.

Downtown Las Vegas 3:2 blackjack games

Single deck games

The single deck game at El Cortez allows doubling down before but not after splitting and the dealer hits soft 17. It is the only single deck blackjack in downtown Las Vegas.

Double-deck games

Stand on 17

Palms is the only casino in the locals and off-Strip markets with a double-deck game that stands on a soft 17. It allows for doubling down before and after splitting. It has a $100 minimum.

Hits a soft 17

The dealer hits a soft 17 in the following double-deck games: The $100 double-deck blackjack at Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station and Red Rock usually has re-split aces. However, this rule has been known to go back and forth.

The following six-deck games stand on soft 17 and allow players to double down before and after splitting. Surrender is available.

Six- and eight-deck hit soft 17 games

The following six-deck games have double down before and after splitting. The dealer hits soft 17.

The six-deck game at Poker Palace has double down on 2 or 3 cards before and after splitting. This game has a $3 minimum bet.

The remaining games have double down before and after splitting, no surrender and aces may only be split once. Jerry’s Nugget has all continuous shuffle machines. At Skyline, blackjack is only available on Thursday through Monday nights.

Blackjack Variants

Blackjack Switch

Blackjack Switch peaked at 33 Las Vegas tables. It is down to four. In this game, the player must bet on two hands. That means $20 is needed to get dealt a hand in a $10 game. The player may switch a card between hands. Blackjack pays even money. The dealer pushes on 22. 

Bonus Spin Blackjack

This game requires players to make a $1 side bet on a Bonus Spin wheel. This is in addition to the posted $10 minimum bet we found. These tables are among the worst in Las Vegas due to the house edge on the side bet, which we estimate to be 23%. The game paying 3:2 only helps offset that a little at lower limits. 

*Some of the tables at Golden Nugget require a $2 side bet in addition to the $10 minimum bet.

Double Exposure

Circus Circus is the only Las Vegas casino that deals Double Exposure blackjack. This is where both dealer cards are shown. Ties lose. The minimum bet is usually $10. It is only open on busy shifts. 

Double Up

Double Up is one of the best blackjack variants, but learning the strategy is imperative. Players may double their bet and stand or play normally. The dealer pushes with 16 against 17-20. Binion’s and Four Queens deal the game with a 3:2 payout for $10. Horseshoe deals it for $25 with a 6:5 payout.

Free Bet Blackjack

Free Bet Blackjack is by far the most popular blackjack variant in Las Vegas. We counted almost 90 tables. It is dealt at 39 casinos. Of those, ten pay 3:2. The others are 6:5 games. The house edge on the 3:2 game is about 1%. It is about 2.4% at 6:5 games. 

The player gets a free double down on 9, 10 and 11. Pairs that do not have a value of 10 may be split and re-split for free. To offset this, the dealer pushes on 22.

Free Bonus Blackjack

Free Bonus Blackjack was discovered at Sahara and Palms. This game is similar to Free Bet. It pays 6:5 on blackjack and has a $10 minimum bet at Sahara and a $15 minimum bet at Palms.

Lucky Cat Blackjack

Golden Nugget deals $5 Lucky Cat Blackjack with a 6:5 payout and a mandatory $2 side bet. We estimate that this game has a house edge of 8.95% at the minimum $7 bet. The Four Queens version is much better with its 3:2 payout and no side bet requirement. That minimum is $10. 

Most Liberal 21

Most Liberal 21 is owned by Plaza. It is the only casino that deals it. It plays like Super Fun 21, a game only available at one Las Vegas locals casino. However, the rules are a little worse. The minimum bet can be as low as $5. 

Spanish 21

Venetian and Palazzo are back to the only casinos in Las Vegas that deal Spanish 21. It is the best option for lower limit players at these luxury casinos, though there is a strategy that needs to be learned first. The minimum bet starts at $25.

Super Fun 21

Sam’s Town is the only Las Vegas casino with Super Fun 21. It adds several exotic rules that are player friendly. However, most blackjacks pay even money to offset that. This double-deck game has a minimum bet of $10. Super Fun 21 is only available during peak hours.

6:5 Blackjack Games in Las Vegas

We don’t go into rule details on 6:5 blackjack games. All hit soft 17. You may find some blackjack on the Las Vegas Strip that let you surrender and re-split aces. These rules don’t really matter. The house edge is around 2%. This is about 1.4% worse than a 3:2 blackjack game. A $10 bettor theoretically loses $3 more every 20.5 hands at 6:5 tables than 3:2 ones.

Single deck

There are still a few 6:5 single deck blackjack tables out there. Double down before and after splitting is typically permitted.

Two decks

Horseshoe, Harrah’s, Paris, Planet Hollywood and Rio deal a $25 6:5 double-deck blackjack game in its main pit. Double down after splitting is not allowed. 

At Palace Station doubling down is permitted before and after splitting. This 6:5 game has a $10 minimum bet. 

Poker Palace deals a double-deck blackjack game that pays even money. The minimum bet is $2. Double down before but not after splitting is permitted. 

Four decks

The only four-deck blackjack game in Las Vegas is dealt at the Alamo truck stop on Blue Diamond Road across from Silverton. It is among the worst blackjack games in the market, even beyond the 6:5 payout. Players can only double down on 10 and 11, and not after splitting. We found it with a $10 minimum bet.

Six-deck even money blackjack

Downtown Grand and Oyo have $1 even money blackjack tables. Players may double down before and after splitting. Blackjack pays 6:5 for bets over $4 at Downtown Grand.
