Along with the initial wager, each player also has the option of placing a Tie Wager. If the player and the dealer have the same rank of card, the Tie Wager is paid 10 to 1.

The Object

The object of Casino War is for the player to have a card that is higher in rank than the dealer’s card.

How to Play Casino War

Casino War Rules-

1 Before starting the first round of play after the cards have been cut and placed in the dealing shoe, the house dealer will discard the first card from the shoe face down and, without revealing its rank to anyone, referred to as a “burn card”, and place it in the discard rack. Each new house dealer who comes to the table will also burn one card before dealing any cards in a round of play.

2 To play Casino War, first check the table minimum and maximum wagering limits. At the beginning of each round of play each player will be required to place an initial wager in the betting circle. Initial wagers can be placed until the house dealer announces "no more bets."

3 Each player at a Casino War table, who has placed an initial wager, will also have the option to make the optional Tie Wager. All Tie Wagers will be placed prior to the house dealer announcing "no more bets."

4 Starting with the player farthest to the house dealer's left and continuing in a clockwise manner, the house dealer will deal one card face-up to each player who has placed an initial wager and one card face-up to the dealer. Players do not touch any of the cards.

5 After each player receives a card, the house dealer then begins from his/hers left in a clockwise direction, compare the rank of each Player’s card with that of the Dealer's card and settle all initial wagers and then all Tie Wagers.

How Casino War winners are determined and paid

1 The following will apply when determining whether the player wins, loses or pushes.
If the Player’s card has a higher rank than the Dealer’s card, the Player’s initial wager wins even money. The Tie Bet (if applicable) will lose.
If a Player’s card has a lower in rank than the Dealer's card, the House wins and the player will lose their initial wager and their Tie Wager (if applicable).
If the Player’s card and the Dealer's card are of equal rank (Tie), the Tie Wager will be paid 10 to 1. (See the options available to the player below)

2 All losing initial wagers and Tie Wagers will be collected by the house dealer and placed in front of the dealer. All winning initial wagers and Tie Wagers will be paid by the dealer.

3 After settling all initial wagers and Tie Wagers, the house dealer will collect the cards of all players except for the cards of those players with a tie and who have elected to go to WAR.

Going to War

1 If any player elects to make a War wager upon the occurrence of a tie hand, the house dealer will confirm the placement of the War wager and collect the full amount of the player’s initial wager. The Player’s card and the dealer’s card from the original deal will remain exposed during the War deal.

2 The War deal will begin with the house dealer discarding three burn cards and then dealing the next card face-up to the first active player to the house dealer’s left who has placed a War wager. The player’s War deal card will be placed on the table adjacent to the Player’s card from the original deal. The house dealer will then proceed around the table in a clockwise direction, repeating the process for each player who has placed a War wager and the dealer.

3 After the dealing procedures above have been completed, the house dealer will, beginning from the house dealer’s left and proceeding around the table in a clockwise direction, compare the rank of each Player’s card from the War deal to the dealer’s card from the War deal and settle all War wagers.

If the Player’s card in the War deal is lower in rank than the dealer’s card in the War deal, the player loses.
If the Player’s card in the War deal is higher in rank than the dealer’s card in the War deal, the player will win.
If the player and the dealer’s cards are of equal rank on the War wager, the player wins and is paid 2 to 1.

4 The dealer is never required to cover all opposing players’ Casino War wagers. Payoffs of Casino War wagers are limited to the amount of the dealer’s Casino War wager. The house never participates as a dealer. There is no maximum on the dealer’s Casino War wager.

Tie Wager

A Tie Wager is an optional tie bet that can be made by each player before the cards are dealt. If the Player’s card is equal rank to the dealer’s card, the Tie Wager will be paid 10 to 1 and the player will be given the following two options:

1 The player may surrender one-half of their initial wager and end their participation in that round of play. If a player selects this option, the house dealer will collect one-half of the player's initial wager and place it in front of the dealer position. The house dealer will return the remaining one-half of the initial wager to the player.

2Go to "War." - If the Player chooses to go to “War” with the Dealer, the Player will make a "War" Wager equal to their initial wager, with the option of making a Tie Wager.

The War Wager will be placed to the right of the initial wager Three cards are then burned (discarded) for both the Player and the Dealer and one additional card is dealt to both. The highest ranking card wins the “War.” If the Player’s card wins, the original wager is returned, the “War” Wager is paid 1 to 1 and any Tie Wager will lose. If the Player’s card is of equal rank to the Dealer’s card, the original wager is returned, the “War” Wager will pay 2 to 1 and any Tie Wager will pay 10 to 1.
