Best Western Plus Casino Royale, formerly known as simply "Casino Royale" is a room hotel and casino located on Las Vegas Boulevard South on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel is part of a chain of upgraded hotel properties known as the "Best Western Plus", owned by the Best Western Hotel company.

The hotel and casino is in the style of multiple candy-colored Europoean villas and includes a Denny's, a Walgreen's, a White Castle, and an Outback Steakhouse.

It is currently the only Las Vegas Strip hotel to reject resort fees.

History[]

Casino Royale was first occupied by several restaurants and a casino, including:

  • Bill's Place
  • Motor Inn Motel
  • Louigi's Charcoal Broiler
  • Frank Musso's Restaurant

On January 1, , Tom Elardi bought both the Travelodge and the Nob Hill Casino and connected them into Casino Royale. The property later connected with the places mentioned above and changed to a massive European-style facade.

In April of , police officers observed an un-cooperative handcuffed man that was being beaten in the back alley of the casino. The man, who was a criminology student, was later interviewed.

Casino royal construction

In December of during the Frontier Culinary Union Strike, an alleged spying was reported inside the casino. James Lockhart, who was a year-old surveillance agent during , said that a communications technician showed him a listening device located within the security rooms that was secretly linked to the dealer's room.

On March of , a District Court lawsuit was filed in an attempt to limit what was considered as "illegal labor picketing" outside of Casino Royale. The picketers were claimed to have been blockading entrances and intimidating employees and patrons. The lawsuit, filed by Steven Cohen, also noted that a plywood shack was erected on the sidewalk on the front of the casino without building permits. The lawsuit also had brief mentions of bullhorns and other amplified devices on the shack, noted that it was "endangering the health as well being of the patrons".

Somewhere in , the original sign for the casino that was located on the middle of the building was replaced with an LED Screen, with a new neon sign on top of it.

In the pink dome-like part of the Casino Royale was replaced with a more modern Walgreen's. The Denny's in the structure was also renovated.

On January of , the Best Western Corporation bought Casino Royale and began to brand it as a Best Western Plus hotel.

A White Castle, excpected to be the first one in the western United States, was announced to open in November inside the hotel and casino on August of

On September of , a new renovation of the north end of the casino added the first ever White Castle to the Las Vegas Strip, replacing part of the original architecture of the casino's facade. The Denny's nearby it closed and later reopened after the renovations were completed in early

On August 10, , popular Las Vegas-related blog Vital Vegas reported on their Twitter page that the Casino Royale was bought out and would soon be demolished to be replaced with a Ritz Carlton-branded hotel. The tweet stated that the information came from an untested source adament and also stated that the new hotel would include a new underground parking garage. However, this is currently just a rumor, and no conformation from either Best Western, Tom Elardi, or Ritz Carlton have been made.

Thematic Influence[]

Casino Royale is simply themed as multiple European-styled buildings and/or villas. The theme also resembles a sort of a Mardi Gras/party feel with its candy-like colors. Not to mention the term "Royale" which is the French term for "Royal" in the name.
